Another Free Gardening Workshop

If you miss the first and still want to go, MU Extension is offering a second workshop.  It should be a great way to get into gardening season!

9:35-10:00-Why Grow, Buy, and Eat Local Food?

10:00-10:45-Growing Vegetables In The Home Garden

10:45-11:00-Break

11:00-11:15-Using Raised Beds

11:15-12:00-Growing Small fruits (strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, gooseberries, etc.)

12:00-12:45-$5 Boxed lunch from Hy-Vee or bring your own

12:45-1:30- Panel of gardeners speak about their gardening experience

1:30-1:45-Companion Planting

1:45-2:00-Soil Basics & Making and Using Compost

2:00-2:15-Break

2:15-3:00-Chemical-free Pest Control

3:00-Wrap-up

The workshop is sponsored by University of Missouri Extension. There is a $5 charge if you would like to have a boxed lunch from Hy-Vee, or you may bring your lunch.
