We went down to help send off Shira and Joshua with love and support for their journey this morning. A crew of four of us from Kirksville came and joined another 15 or so people that were helping out at the Possibility Alliance. There was music, a happy birthday, a housewarming to newly established homesteaders Rory and Amanda, hopes and wishes shared, and an all around joyous time.
At 10:00 am, we all walked from the Possibility Alliance down to Rory and Amanda’s home on Highway E (about 2 miles), then most of the group turned back while a few continued to accompany Shira and Joshua until highway 63. From there, they turned south and headed towards Macon.
I expect to hear more from them as their journey progresses and I’ll keep updating whenever I get news.
There’s an article about them in this week’s Truman Index. You can read it here*.
*As a correction to the article, I’m about 99% sure that Shira has never lived in or anywhere near NEMO. She did want to start a Healing Arts Center near the Possibility Alliance, and was on a search to buy land, but it didn’t (or has not yet) come to fruition.
